Nigerians celebrated Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary in Tripoli, Libya, with a colorful football match organized by the Nigeria Egles Star in Tripoli. Nigerian Chargé D’affaires En Titre, Ambassador Kabiru Musa, members of staff of Nigerian Embassy, and some Libyan sports officials attended the event.
His Excellency Kabiru Musa appreciated the Libyan sports officials for rejoicing with Nigerians at the occasion. He thereafter urged Nigerian youths who were present at the event, to make positive use of their energy and engage in sporting activities. The match between the two Nigerian teams ended 1-0 in favour of RCCG.
The head coach Mr. Mosuru Adeoye, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Ambassador Kabiru Musa for his encouragement and financial support.
The event was a success, and it was a great way for Nigerians in Tripoli to celebrate their national Independence Day. No doubt, the presence of the Chargé D’affaires served as motivation for the participation of the community youths in sports. Nigerian Mission will continue to support sporting activities in Libya because through sports young people will stay active and healthy. It also has the potential to build bridges between different cultures.
